Supported Apartment Living

The primary focus of the Supported Apartment Living Program is to balance the need for ongoing rehabilitation with re-integration of the client back into a normal lifestyle.

The apartments are located in North Conway, New Hampshire, a four-season resort community. Not only are there endless opportunities for work in this friendly New England town, but it is also known for its exciting recreation and leisure opportunities including hiking, shopping, fishing, scenic foliage and many other activities.

These ingredients mixed together yeild unlimited opportunities for a person with an acquired brain injury to engage in a meaningful lifestyle.

Services offered:

  1. Vocational/avocational training and supports.
  2. Substance abuse recovery and relapse prevention services.
  3. Provide the opportunity to learn, practice and generalize skills across a variety of functional settings.
  4. Teach and promote the use of strategies to increase self-direction and self-control.
  5. Assistance in enhancement and development of social/leisure support networks which includes the maintenance of friends and intimate relationships.
  6. Use of natural consequences and the opportunity for choice and acceptable options to minimize reliance on others and maximize independence.
  7. Teach and promote the use of strategies for use in functional living and working environments.
  8. Structured opportunity and training focusing on independence which may include:
  • self-control, including activities of daily living
  • personal health management
  • physical endurance training
  • cognitive and communication skills acquisitions
  • psychosocial skills, including recreation and leisure
  • behavioral and emotional skills
  • advocacy
  • transportation
  • disability adjustment
  • community integration training
